​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Dariush Mehrjui (December 8, 1939 - October 14, 2023) also spelled as Mehrjui Mehrjoui, and Mehrjuyi, was an Iranian director, screenwriter, producer, and film editor. Mehrjui was a founding member of the Iranian New Wave movement of the early 1970s.
