Humberto Ríos
Biography
Humberto Ríos (1929–2014) was born in La Paz, Bolivia, on November 30, 1929. He was a Bolivian film director and documentarian who died in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 8, 2014. In the 1950s he traveled to France, initially intending to work in his original profession as a painter and set designer, but the creative energy of the nouvelle vague drew him into cinema, and he went on to study at IDHEC, where he crossed paths with figures like Costa-Gavras, Manuel Michel and Salvador Elizondo.…
