Kārlis Bergs

Biography

Kārlis Bergs is a Latvian American filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY, with an MFA from CalArts, where he developed a deep interest in the intersection of art, science, and documentary form. His feature documentary Weeping Rocks premiered at IDFA 2025, where it was nominated for the First Feature Award and the FIPRESCI Award. The film received support from the U.S. National Science Foundation Grant and the Allan Sekula Social Documentary Grant, and was selected for the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum. …
