Biography

Zhardem Ismailovich Baytenov Born on March 27, 1932, in Alma-Ata. Soviet film director. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of the S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University (1959), while working as a loader and worker at the Alma-Ata Film Studio. In 1959–1960, he worked as an illustrator for the newspaper Lenishil Zhas (Lenin’s Shift).
