Biography

Zofia Nałkowska (10 November 1884 – 17 December 1954) was a Polish prose writer, dramatist, and prolific essayist. She served as the executive member of the prestigious Polish Academy of Literature (1933–1939) during the interwar period. She was an activist in women's organizations. From 1939 to 1944, she collaborated with the cultural underground.
