Digimon Adventure 02

The Digital World falls under attack from the Digimon Emperor, and the Digimon are unable to Digivolve. When Kari Kamiya, T.K. Takaishi, and their classmate, Davis Motomiya, enter the Digital World to save Tai Kamiya, Davis lifts the Digi-egg of Courage and meets Veemon, who is able to Armor Digivolve into Flamedramon and save them from an enslaved Monochromon.

Yolei and Cody are pulled into the Digital World and, guided by Sora and Izzy, awaken the Digi-eggs of Love and Knowledge, letting Hawkmon and Armadillomon Armor Digivolve to rescue Davis and Veemon.

Under attack from Tyrannomon, T.K. and Kari discover the Digi-eggs of Hope and Light, Armor Digivolving Patamon and Gatomon into Pegasusmon and Nefertimon to save the team.

An enslaved RedVegiemon has captured and abused Gabumon; Matt joins the kids to free him, and destroying a nearby Control Spire lets Gabumon evolve again and breaks the Emperor's hold on his slaves.

With Gomamon held captive, Joe joins the rescue, and after Cody nearly drowns and the pair are ambushed, Digmon and Ikkakumon team up to free the Digimon.

Mimi returns for a Digital World picnic, but she and Yolei are ambushed in the Night Forest by the Roachmon Brothers until Palmon Digivolves into Togemon to help turn the tide.

Separated from the group near a Control Spire, Kari talks a Dark Ring-controlled Andromon into breaking free, and he destroys the tower himself.

A soccer match against prodigy Ken Ichijoji turns into a trap when the Digimon Emperor forces Davis's hand, and reveals himself as Ken.

Ken flees deeper into the Digital World and forces a captured Agumon into an uncontrollable Dark Digivolution as SkullGreymon before escaping with him.

Ken invents the Dark Spiral to control Ultimate-level Digimon, and uses it to twist a recaptured Agumon into a corrupted MetalGreymon that turns on the DigiDestined.

Torn about fighting his friend's captured Agumon, Davis's resolve to protect the group awakens the Digi-egg of Friendship, letting Veemon Armor Digivolve into Raidramon.

Answering Biyomon's distress call leads the team into a Western-style town run by Starmon, where Flamedramon ultimately routs him and topples the local Control Spire.

Kari's nightmares pull her into the Dark Ocean, where freed Scubamon try to make her their queen before she and T.K. escape with help from a destroyed Control Spire.

After Ken enslaves diner owner Digitamamon and hurts Mimi's friend Michael, Yolei's fury unlocks the Digi-egg of Sincerity, letting Hawkmon become Shurimon and set him free.

In an Edo-period corner of the Digital World, the team must stop Ninjamon from placing a Dark Spiral on the local ruler, ShogunGekomon.

Trapped under an oil platform by MegaSeadramon, Cody overcomes guilt over a small lie and unlocks the Digi-egg of Reliability, Armor Digivolving Armadillomon into Submarimon to win the day.

All of the DigiDestined gather to commemorate the battle from four years ago, and a ghostly figure caught on a TV station's camera turns out to be Wizardmon, who leaves them a cryptic clue for defeating the Digimon Emperor before vanishing.

While the older kids stage a camping trip as cover, the younger DigiDestined search the Digital World for Ken's hideout, and Yolei's impatience gets Hawkmon hurt before they spot his airborne fortress after dark.

Leaving Davis behind, the rest of the team infiltrates Ken's base, built over the remains of Devimon's data that he's used to create the monstrous Kimeramon. Furious at the discovery, T.K. confronts Ken before the group flees with the base's freed prisoners once Kimeramon is unleashed.

Kimeramon turns against its own creator, and Wormmon leads Davis to the source of the base's power, the Digi-egg of Miracles, letting Veemon Golden Armor Digivolve into the mighty Magnamon.

Wormmon gives his life to fuel Magnamon's victory over Kimeramon, and the loss forces Ken to finally confront the reality of his cruelty, earning him the Crest of Kindness as the Digimon Emperor's reign ends.

Back in the Digital World to help with reconstruction, Davis's attempt to impress Kari by getting Veemon to Digivolve naturally instead provokes an angry Tortomon, forcing ExVeemon into the fight.

A dream reveals how Ken's grief over his brother Sam's death pushed him toward becoming the Digimon Emperor; back in the present, he vows to change and reunites with Wormmon reborn as Leafmon.

With a stranger from Ken's past resurfacing and Digivolution still blocked despite the fallen Control Spires, Cody's clash with Thundermon triggers Armadillomon's evolution into Ankylomon, though Ken's role in the enemy's death leaves the others wary.

When a Golemon threatens a dam, the team reluctantly turns to Ken for help, and learning the truth about the mysterious woman's schemes restores Yolei's trust enough for Hawkmon to Digivolve into Aquilamon.

As the mysterious woman assembles Okuwamon from a cluster of Control Spires, Davis refuses to let Ken face the danger alone, and his declaration of friendship triggers ExVeemon and Stingmon's DNA Digivolution into Paildramon.

Paildramon overcomes Okuwamon and levels the last remnants of Ken's old base, after which Izzy explains DNA Digivolution and the sacrifice the original DigiDestined once made to protect the Digital World.

At Giga House, the team discovers a mysterious woman is using enchanted flute music to enslave every insect-type Digimon in the area, Stingmon and Digmon included.

Yolei breaks the spell of the woman's flute, exposing her as Arukenimon; though the team beats her, Mummymon swoops in to help her escape.

After Davis and Yolei's efforts to smooth things over between Cody and Ken go nowhere, Arukenimon unleashes the Control-Spire-born BlackWarGreymon, who overpowers the team until he unexpectedly turns on his own creators.

Searching the Dark Ocean for Gatomon's lost tail ring, the girls and Ken are ambushed by Arukenimon's Blossomon, and Yolei's promise to stand by a panicking Kari fuels Gatomon and Aquilamon's DNA Digivolution into Silphymon.

As BlackWarGreymon starts questioning his own purpose, Arukenimon sends Knightmon to smash one of the Digital World's Destiny Stones, and the resulting chaos draws BlackWarGreymon in to finish the job himself.

On a school trip to Kyoto, Yolei runs into BlackWarGreymon after he destroys another Destiny Stone, and with Ken's brief help she and Hawkmon manage to subdue the rampaging Musyamon.

Convinced he's fated to battle whatever Digimon emerges from a shattered Destiny Stone, BlackWarGreymon presses on despite the team's fears about upsetting the worlds' balance, and even a newly Digivolved MagnaAngemon can't stop him.

Learning from Matt just how deeply T.K. was scarred by his fight with Devimon, a worried Cody confronts BlackWarGreymon directly, but instinct wins out and another Destiny Stone falls.

Tracking Arukenimon and Mummymon to Digitamamon's restaurant, the DigiDestined find the last Destiny Stone hidden in its springs, and Angemon and Ankylomon DNA Digivolve into Shakkoumon to face BlackWarGreymon's arrival.

Following Davis's plan to use their D-3s on the final Destiny Stone, the team summons the guardian Azulongmon, whose defeat of BlackWarGreymon sends him off in search of new purpose while he warns the DigiDestined that Arukenimon isn't their true enemy.

On Christmas Eve, the younger DigiDestined hold a party at Ken's apartment while the older kids attend Matt's concert, until Digimon suddenly appear in the Real World and force everyone to send them back; the next morning brings news that Control Spires and Digimon are surfacing worldwide.

As Davis and Ken fight Triceramon in Tamachi, the team receives one of Azulongmon's Digicores from a rejuvenated Gennai, restoring the original partners' power and letting Paildramon Digivolve into Imperialdramon so the DigiDestined can coordinate with allies worldwide.

Davis teams up with Mimi and the American DigiDestined while Kari and Izzy get backup from the Poi Brothers to handle the chaos breaking out in Hong Kong.

Cody and Joe join forces with an Australian DigiDestined against marine Digimon, while in Paris, T.K. and Tai enlist T.K.'s grandfather to rescue a hostage from the Mamemon brothers at Versailles.

Ken and Matt help out a Mexican DigiDestined while Sora and Yolei assist in Russia, and when a Mammothmon in Siberia proves too much for them, Imperialdramon arrives just in time; back home for Christmas, the team learns Arukenimon and Mummymon have been quietly abducting children.

The Daemon Corps' assault on Japan forces the veteran Digimon to give up their borrowed power so Imperialdramon can reach Fighter Mode, but Ken still ends up a prisoner once Daemon reveals the children Arukenimon has taken.

Ken meets Yukio Oikawa, who knows his past and wants to harvest the data of the Dark Spore in his neck for the kidnapped children, while the rest of the team battles LadyDevimon and MarineDevimon, leaving Yolei and Cody shaken after watching their partners kill for the first time.

Having reached his goal, Oikawa hands Ken over to Daemon, and though Davis and the others intervene, Imperialdramon and their Digimon are powerless against him; Ken gambles by rerouting the portal to the Dark Ocean, letting Oikawa free the kidnapped children as he and his followers escape.

While the DigiDestined keep watch over the rescued children, BlackWarGreymon confronts Oikawa and learns the truth of his own creation, and the resulting fury is only checked when WarGreymon and Imperialdramon step in to plead with him as a friend.

One of the children's Dark Spores blooms into a Dark Flower that Oikawa harvests despite the DigiDestined's best efforts, and when Cody's grandfather can't talk him down, BlackWarGreymon takes a fatal blow to protect him, using his last strength to seal Highton View Terrace's portal to the Digital World.

With Highton View Terrace's portal sealed, Oikawa's attempt to bring the children to the Digital World instead strands them in the Dream World, and his own possession takes the form of Myotismon, who Digivolves into MaloMyotismon using the Dark Spores and kills Arukenimon and Mummymon in cold blood, leaving everyone but Davis paralyzed with fear.

MaloMyotismon tempts the DigiDestined with illusions of their deepest wishes, but Davis's resolve to make ExVeemon stronger snaps everyone out of it, triggering a wave of Digivolutions strong enough to drive their enemy back into the Digital World.

With help from DigiDestined worldwide and the freed children, Imperialdramon finally destroys MaloMyotismon as Oikawa sacrifices himself to restore the Digital World, and the series closes twenty-five years later with a new generation carrying on the legacy of protecting both worlds.
