Please Explain returns for its fourth season with a satirical episode examining contemporary Australia, political division, cultural change and the country’s evolving national identity.

This week, Albo seeks the most morally repugnant propagandists in the country to take down Pauline Hanson. As Barnaby Joyce calls them, "The biggest lefty cabal of bitter, twisted, angry people you could ever come against”.

Albo's worried. The vibe's gone conservative, the polls are slipping, and Labor needs progressive slop... fast. So he heads to the ABC. One problem: the national broadcaster is already flat out (that's three days a week, 10 till 3). So Albo does the only reasonable thing — he takes the place over. Meanwhile, deposed boss Kim Williams gets thrown in the ABC vault, where he meets the ghosts of ABC IP past and rediscovers the soul the place used to have.

Victoria's a mess and Premier Jacinta Allan knows exactly who's to blame. Not her own incompetence. Not the corruption. No… it's the dark forces. So she does the only reasonable thing: grabs a broom and flies to Hogwarts to recruit the greatest witch who ever lived — Headmaster Julia Gillard.

The government flies in an ageing national treasure to shoot a new tourism ad, one that sells Australia to the world by the boatload. Paul gets his big bag of money. Then he tries to spend it. What follows is a guided tour of where it all went: Snowy Hydro 2.0, the NDIS, a Rugby League team for Papua New Guinea, and a trillion dollars of debt — narrated by a red-headed pelican from Ipswich.

Albo convinces Andrew Hastie that One Nation is behind the abuse in his comments section. Hastie declares war, takes the Liberal leadership, and puts Angus Taylor in a coma, where Robert Menzies is waiting with a few words about the Forgotten People.

Pauline Hanson lives rent free in the heads of the Australian Left; they just can't stop thinking about her. Now a crack team of activists has the solution: a dream-diving machine that goes inside the minds of Australia's politicians and vacuums Pauline out for good. Albo, Jim Chalmers, Chris Bowen — one by one, evicted of their Paulines. But when the eviction squad reaches the bottom of the last dream, it turns out clearing Pauline out was only step one. Someone's got to fill the vacancy…
