On a trip to Yokokawa to investigate aliens, Shin learns about a rumor of mysterious Shinkansen-shaped robots.

Shin visits the Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park to learn more about driving Shinkalion, and questions why Abuto can't drive a Shinkalion.

Shin and Abuto go to Morioka station to search for a hidden Z Code due to a hint from Abuto's dream.

Hanabi wants to be a musician, Shinkalion driver, and pyrotechnist all at the same time. Hanabi's father however, does not accept his way of life.

Shin goes to Mt. Kiso to look for Taiju, the 3rd driver candidate. However, Taiju doesn't want to be one.

Shin and his friends go to Nagano Station to search for a new Z Code. Abuto says Taiju can't become a Shinkalion Driver, but Shin still believes he can.

Hosokawa claims that he's caught a Yokai, and Shin wants to befriend it. However, Wadatsumi is planning to attack the Yokokawa Branch with his own power.

Shin is moving to Omiya Branch. When he ask why Abuto will stay in Yokokawa instead of coming with him, Abuto tells him about his family.

The driver of 800 Tsubame, who is one year older than Shin and the others, considers Shin's yokai story unscientific.
